Cochlear Implant

A cochlear implant is a surgically implanted electronic device. It delivers a modified hearing ability to a person with moderate to profound hearing loss. The device enables a born-deaf child to have a normal hearing ability. Sarvodaya Hospital is one of the largest Cochlear Implant (CI) centres in Delhi NCR. We precisely diagnose the hearing loss utilizing advanced computerized electrophysiological tests. We are among the very few centres in our city to introduce the ‘New Generation of Cochlear Implant Device’. We are also renowned for our specially fabricated post-implant therapies for both adults and children.

Audiology Lab

We have hi-tech Audiology labs that analyze various aspects of hearing loss. Every detail of hearing ailment is monitored carefully using sophisticated machinery and tools. Auditory Verbal Therapy Centre - Post Implant Rehabilitation

Auditory-verbal therapy is a method for teaching deaf children to listen and speak using their residual hearing ability in addition to the constant use of amplification devices such as cochlear implants. We constantly work towards improving the speech and listening ability of patients by delivering a friendly and homely environment. It is a specialized therapy created to educate patients on - how to use a Cochlear Implant for understanding speech and enhancing listening ability. Therapeutically Advanced Techniques that are used here include Speech Therapy, Misarticulation Therapy, Stammering Therapy, Post-Stroke Speech Therapy, and Aphasia Therapy.

Vertigo Lab

Sarvodaya runs a sophisticated Vestibular laboratory. We assess, evaluate, and treat patients with dizziness and balance dysfunction. We have, Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMP) which is one of the latest facilities for assessment of vertigo we have. Sarvodaya is one of the very few centres in the country which performs surgery for vertigo including the Translabyrinthine vestibular nerve section. Besides a thorough clinical examination and Audiological tests, we use the state-of-the-art Videonystagmography (VNG) to evaluate the causes of vertigo/giddiness.

Swallowing Disorders

Swallowing problems (dysphagia) can occur at any point in the process of moving food, liquid, or saliva from the mouth through the throat (pharynx), into the esophagus and to the stomach. These problems may result in poor nutrition, dehydration or aspiration (accidental ingestion of food particles or fluids into the lungs). It reduces quality of life. Swallowing disorders are often accompanied by voice disorder and head and neck cancer patient. The central goal of the hospital is to provide comprehensive evaluation and management of dysphagia and related disorders and improve quality of life.

Speech Therapy

Our acute speech and language therapists work across a range of clinical areas including intensive care, care of the elderly patient. We see patients with tracheostomies, acquired neurological impairments, as well as acutely unwell patients with long term progressive conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s and Motor Neurone Disease.
