Haematology - Our haematology section is fully automated and we have performed>500 tests in a day within TAT.

Biochemistry and Immunology- Fully automated section with an output > samples perform a day.

Histopathology - Microscopic examination of tissue to study manifestation of tissue. We use global guidelines and give the most comprehensive biopsy reports. We perform intraoperative frozen sections to help surgeons decide on table.

Intraoperative crush smear examination is performed and reported within 30mins.Valuable investigation in neurosurgery and hematooncology cases.

Cytology - Diagnosis of disease at the cellular level. Our cytopathology section included LBC, liquid biopsies and we use international guidelines such as Bethesda pattern for reporting. Our is one of the very few hospitals in Faridabad making cell blocks from body fluid and subjecting it for HPE/IHC .This is an extremely cost effective method which is minimally invasive and helps us in diagnosis of oncology cases with identification of primary site of malignancy by IHC. One of the very few hospitals of Faridabad having cytosine for better yield in low cellularity fluids.

Microbiology - The department of Microbiology at Sarvodaya Hospital and Research Centre aims at providing accurate and reproducible results on clinical material by using state of the art equipment with in shortest possible time.

Blood cultures are done with BD FX automated system for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, fungi and mycobacteria which indicates positivity from 3 hours onward. Identification and antibiotic sensitivity of organism grown from blood culture can be reported very early through automated system which helps in initiation of early specific antimicrobial therapy in life threatening infections.

Conventional cultures of bacteria from clinical specimen other than blood are carried out on appropriate culture media. Identification and antibiotic sensitivity of bacteria is done with BD Phoenix 100 automated systems.

Quality control (QC) and Quality assurance (QA) are strictly implemented with reproducible results from other laboratories by participating in ILC (Inter-lab comparison) and EQAS (External Quality Assessment Scheme).

The department is actively involved in infection prevention and control activities. Surveillance of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) and training of staff is an ongoing program. Guidelines on different topics are issued periodically which are compiled in hospital manuals.
