The Nephrology centre provides comprehensive services for all modalities of renal therapy but the main areas of expertise include Acute Renal Failure, Glomerular Diseases, Kidney Transplant & various forms of Dialytic Therapies. There is no exclusion based on infectious diseases, standard precautions are used to treat all. We have a separate Dialysis Centre dedicated for the Nephrology Department at Sarvodaya Hospital, which is a 23-bedded facility with the latest features.
At Sarvodaya Hospital, Sec-19 we are supported with the highly advanced latest technology and medical equipment, available at Sarvodaya Hospital, Sec 8.
Kidney Transplant: At the Centre for Dialysis & Kidney Transplant, we offer excellent kidney transplant facilities including an Advanced ABO Incompatible Kidney Transplant procedure (transplant without a blood type match) and sensitized transplant with the high success rates, our kidney transplant program is a beacon of quality and hope for patients from across the world. Our centre has high-end equipment and state of the art infrastructure with an eminent pool of nephrologists & transplant surgeons.
CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy): We are one of the few centres in India to provide the best dialysis services for critically ill patients in the ICU/CCU with multi-organ failure, where peritoneal or routine haemodialysis is not possible due to various reasons. Our CRRT unit is capable of delivering dialysis to the most unstable and critical patients. It can replicate the filtration of patients’ native kidneys in a manner desired by the treating intensivist. This is carried out for a stretch greater than 24 hours (up to 3-4 days if required).
Haemo-diafiltration (HDF): Our Haemo-diafiltration services deliver ultrapure water for Haemodialysis process, which is crucial for the longevity of the patient. Compared to conventional haemodialysis, it offers enhanced quality, zero infection and complete patient safety during dialysis. It also offers True ‘SLED’ (Sustained Low Efficiency Dialysis) – a modality very often required in critical patients requiring Haemodialysis. This process helps in improving anaemia, bone joint and heart diseases.
Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) Catheter Insertion & Training: The aim of the Peritoneal Dialysis Department is to support patients carrying out their peritoneal dialysis at home. This can be Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) or Automated Peritoneal Dialysis (APD) by machine. With CAPD, a thin tube, called a catheter, is surgically implanted into the abdominal wall. The tube hangs down into the abdominal cavity. You will need to drain a cleaning solution called dialysate through the tube 3-4 times a day (having first drained off the used fluid, which carries the toxic waste matters away from your body as your kidneys used to do). CAPD takes place inside the body using the natural lining of the abdomen called the Peritoneum. The Peritoneum acts as the dialysis membrane. In order to do your dialysis by CAPD, you will need to have a small operation (which takes place under a local or general anaesthesia) to insert a catheter into your abdomen. Usually done at home, CAPD requires to be carried out four times every day. It takes less than 30 minutes each time and is a very simple & painless procedure.
Plasma Exchange: The facilities for Plasmapheresis and Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) are available for Renal and Non-renal patients such as GB Syndrome and Myasthenia Gravis. Various diseases like Goodpasture’s Syndrome, Haemolytic Uremic Syndrome, TTP, Cryoglobulinemia, RPGN (SLE, ANCA-related) are treated with Plasmapheresis. It is done using a Plasma filter and 5% Albumin or fresh Plasma.
Haemoperfusion Poisoning treatment & Endotoxin Removal: This procedure is performed using charcoal cartridge, with an average treatment time of a few hours. It is a life saving technique for treating overdoses of sleeping pills, drugs and other poisons. Endotoxin removal is especially helpful for managing sepsis patients.
We also offer excellent treatment and services for various other procedures like AV Fistula, AV Graft, Permcath insertion, Vascular Repair & Revascularization of Blocked Vascular Access.
At Sarvodaya Hospital, Sec-19 we are supported with the highly advanced latest technology and medical equipment, available at Sarvodaya Hospital, Sec 8.
Dialysis: The Dialysis unit is backed by state-of-the-art Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment System, and the quality of water is maintained according to the international standards. R.O. (Reverse Osmosis) water for dialysis ensures patient safety and prevents long-term complications in haemodialysis. The latest dialysis machines are inclusive of various sensors, meters gauges, monitors, blood leak detectors, computerized apparatus detection systems & various modules that help to measure details & data when the dialysis is in progress.
Haemodiafiltration (HDF): We have the latest generation fully computerized bicarbonate haemodialysis machines and volumetric ultra-filtration with an adjustable sodium facility to provide better patient safety profile.
Helical CT: Helps in diagnosing the diseases and their assessment.
Digital Radiography: Provides good quality images of Intravenous Urography.
Ultrasonography: Helps in diagnosing disease of the urinary tract in a non-invasive way.
We also have the following technologies available in our Nephrology department:
At Sarvodaya Hospital, Sec-19 we are supported with the highly advanced latest technology and medical equipment, available at Sarvodaya Hospital, Sec 8.
Diagnostic Facilities: The Centre for Dialysis & Kidney Transplant offers a comprehensive medical solution to all kidney ailments complemented by excellent, comprehensive diagnostic facilities that makes the hospital a centre known for Total Kidney Care.
Haemodialysis Unit: This unit has 4 dialysis stations with separate stations for Hepatitis B patients. The patients under a dialysis prescription generally require two or three treatments per week for 3 or 4 hours in each session. We are equipped with the best to provide them the best treatment.
Critical Haemodialysis Unit: The Haemodialysis unit also has the facility for continuous monitoring of the sick patient through highly sophisticated monitors throughout the dialytic procedure. Regular Heat clean disinfection of haemodialysis machines after every shift is practised for patient safety. Bedside Dialysis facility is available and routinely performed in ICU for critically ill patients through CRRT(Continuous renal replacement therapy) and HDF-SLED along with a highly trained intense care team.
Dialysis Centre: We have a dedicated 23-bedded Dialysis centre with a specialized HD for Kidney Transfer Unit (KTU). We understand the critical health condition of the patients who go under the kidney transfer process and thus our KTU is equipped with HEPA filters to provide the cleanest possible air supply in the unit and maintain hygiene.
